About beyondnil: Our Origins
Before BeyondNIL, there was Pickle for Pay, a first-of-its-kind initiative connecting the booming world of collegiate pickleball with emerging Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.
We partnered with student-athletes, clubs, and programs across the country — including James Madison University and others — to create unique NIL moments through the fastest-growing sport in America. From campus tournaments and branded events to NIL workshops and collective support, Pickle for Pay was about innovation, community, and fun.
But the NIL world was changing fast…
The Shift: NIL Became Bigger
As the NCAA, state laws, and federal guidance around NIL began to evolve, so did the stakes for athletes, schools, and collectives. We saw firsthand how confusion around compliance, lack of contract transparency, and uneven access to resources were creating barriers for the very people NIL was meant to empower.
The message was clear: the NIL space didn’t just need more deals — it needed better tools, deeper legal clarity, and smarter support.
So, we expanded our mission.
